Fairfax purchase of Essential Baby confirmed
I mentioned it via News’ Hugh Martin a few weeks back now, but it was officially announced this morning that Fairfax Digital has bought Essential Baby, the independent parenting website.
The confirmation came via agency email this morning, but can’t find any news online to link to (including the ASX). No mention of $$ involved.
Update: I just re-read the email. There’s technically no mention of a purchase - while I assume that’s what has happened, its still definitely possible Essential Baby has simply partnered with Fairfax Digital to sell their ads (just like their relationship with ASX.com.au et al).
Update - 24 Jan AM: The acquisition is now also public and confirmed - there’s the announcement on the Essential Baby forums (including the continuing thread too from its members about the sale)
