Link roundup for week ending 2 Dec
Here’s a roundup of a few things that have been a’happening:
- The IAB overseas has launched a trade campaign promoting interactive (MarketingVox article). Is this in part because advertisers need to be persuaded of the benefits instead of reminded of the growing pains?
- Three customers viewed the live streams of the First Ashes Test more than 270,000 times over the 5 days of the test (of a 380,000 total Ashes video moments viewed including things like daily highlights). (MocoNews post)
- An SMH article notes that while iTunes Australia is helping legitimise digital music downloads, its under-representative of digital revenues. For example, with Sony BMG itunes represents 80% of digital downloads, but only 40% of its digital revenue - the more lucrative revenue comes from mobile content etc.
- Foxtel has announced a launch time for its VoD offering: Foxtel On Demand will go to market in February 07. In late 07 the offering will extend to a further subscription basis. (B&T article - sub reqd)
- News has broken about Google overseas (and perhaps also in Australia?) having a "secret" network that allows big advertisers more negotiating power, which also delivers higher yield for those publishers involved (via ProBlogger).
